As you might know, we are in Germany at the moment. And we are travelling around, visiting our parents, going here and there. And we feel like two Hobbits in Mordor. The weather is switching between light and dark grey. In the morning, you can't be sure, whether it's day or not - it stays dark, it's raining, it's wet and cold. Huah!

We are really looking forward to having good weather again soon!

Seit einigen Tagen sind wir wieder in Deutschland und können uns oft genug ein Grinsen nicht verkneifen: der Wetterbericht im Radio spricht immer wieder von der "Eiseskälte", die momentan hier in Deutschland herrscht. Das kommt einem schon ein wenig seltsam vor - die Rede ist nämlich von Temperaturen zwischen -4 und 0 Grad. Wenn man aus Kanada kommt und die letzten Wochen Temperaturen um die -20 Grad, teils sogar bis -30 Grad, normal waren, ist es schon einigermaßen lächerlich.

So, we took the first hurdle - we had the medical check at the official doctor in Frankfurt. It took about three hours overall, but was not really problematic. We were properly prepared, had all necessary vaccinations and all the paperwork ready and as it seems no obvious problems that prevented us from passing the check.

So far so good now, in a couple of days we have the interview at the embassy and hopefully everything will be okay there, too. I'm not really worried about that part though. Again, we are well prepared, have all the necessary papers and information and know what that all means. After all, we lived in Canada for two years now and know how to prepare for this and what to expect.
