Rafting on the American River

That's why we didn't go on a motorcycle trip last weekend:

It was a lot of fun! We drove up to Cameron Park, CA, on Friday evening and were on the river most of Saturday. High water and a great team made it a good experience. Great guide, too.

  1. Nice! No excuses necessary ;-) Water sports of any kind is an acceptable alternative to riding ;-)

  2. Looks like a lot of fun but also cold especially if the high water is that from snowmelt.

  3. It definitely was a lot of fun. The water was cold, but we were so busy paddling and it was a sunny day that we didn't get cold over the day. Just in the shuttle going back to camp after the rafting was a bit cold until we got out of the wet suits.

  4. A sunny day... hm... I have heard that such thing might exist. I am getting webbed fingers over here on my daily scooter comutering.

  5. We haven't had the best spring weather here either. It was quite rainy, we are at 143% of the seasonal average and temperatures are rather on the low side. Lots of clouds, sometimes some drops. Last year it pretty much stopped raining for the summer late in April. Not complaining though, weather is still pretty awesome when compared to other areas.

  6. My son and I have taking 1/2 day rafting trip during the last three summer motorcycle trips. Love it. Wanting to do a multi-day trip soon.
